Past

Someone with the preference past often looks back to the past and often speaks of the past too. When this preference is very strong, it is possible that this person isn’t able to enjoy the present enough and makes very few plans for the future. Statements like do you remember when or I always did it in this way etc.

Present

Someone with the preference present is in the ‘here and now’ and just puts the focus on what is happening right here, right now. When this preference is strong, it might be possible that someone is less capable of looking back to the past or looking into the future. The past is needed for somebody to learn from and looking to the future helps someone to make plans. These people are able to act and improvise very quickly.

Future

Someone with the preference future has a focus on what is going to come and also likes it to make new plans continuously. When this preference is very strong, it is possible that someone doesn’t learn from the past and doesn’t enjoy the  present. Statements like: in 2 months I am going to start my study or I will be going on holiday in August etc.
