Level of activity

Pro-active

Someone with the preference pro-active finds it important to take precautions. If they are given an instruction, they will react immediately and in a planned way. If a friend makes a suggestion for an activity, they will act on it quite quickly. Someone with the preference pro-active will start a task shortly after being given the task to allow some thinking time.

Re-active

Someone with the preference re-active doesn’t always find it important to start a task immediately, but may wait until possibly just before the deadline. If a friend makes a suggestion for an activity, they will only react at the very last moment. Sentences like we shall see or I will think about it… are often said by someone who is strongly re-active.

Active

Someone with the preference active begins quickly with an appointed task. If somebody suggests undertaking something, they will start without any delays and will just get on with it. Someone with the preference active will start a task immediately they are given it.

Non-active

Someone with the preference non- active might accomplish a small task by the deadline or perhaps not. This person shows persistence and is able to finish a long lasting project. They get stuck into it and are stress resistant. This person is not influenced by others and the chance is, small (unimportant) tasks will not be done at all, but is so persistent that they will complete major projects but won’t change course.
